12th CMSA CONFERENCE
The 12th CMSA Conference will be held in Melbourne on 18-19 June 2009.
The theme for the conference will be "From Beginner to Winner" developing case managers to advanced practitioners.

PAST CMSA CONFERENCES
The 11th National CMSA Conference was held in June 2008.
The theme for the conference was "Promoting partnerships in case management - key or catch?"
Our opening keynote speaker was Professor Steve Onyett from the UK. Other speakers included Bryan Lipmann OAM, Di Lawson, Dr Maree Dyson, Assoc Prof Michael Fine, Dana Shen & Beth Wilson.
A pre-conference was also held on the National standards Documents, it was facilitated by Brad Cooper.

The 9th Annual CMSA Conference was held in February 2006.
The theme for the Conference was "Exposing Excellence in Case Management Practice"
Our opening keynote speaker was Professor JoAnn Damron Rodriguez from the US a well respected academic and Social Work Gerontologist. Other speakers include Dr David Campbell, Dr Mark Siddins, Deborah Roberts, Brad Cooper, Kerrie Maher and Howard Langmead.
The Hon Gavin Jennings Victorian Minister for Aged Care and Aboriginal Affairs also opened and addressed our conference.

The 8th Annual CMSA Conference was held in February 2005.
The theme for the Conference was Case Management: Developing an Evidence Base.
Plenary Addresses were presented by Professor David Challis, Michael Summers , Jason Clarke, Brad Cooper, Professor Len Gray, Mollie Sullivan and Carol Swendson.
Professor Challis also published a paper in the Summer 2005 edition of the Australian Journal of Case Management, distributed to all CMSA members.

The 7th Annual CMSA Conference was held in February 2004.
The theme for the Conference was Case Management: Fad or Future?
Plenary Addresses were presented by Dr Michael Kendrick, Rob Formanek and Diane Hedler, Associate Professor Elizabeth Ozanne, Dan Hook, Associate Professor Greg Murphy, Lyndall Grimshaw and Brendan Walsh.
Dr Michael Kendrick's paper was published in the June 2004 edition of the Australian Journal of Case Management, distributed to all CMSA members.

Conferences Before 2004
The sixth annual conference: 'Case Management: Whose Outcomes Matter Most' was held at The Carlton Crest Hotel, Sydney, from 12 - 13 February, 2003. Keynote speakers included Dr David Moxley, Professor at Wayne State University, USA, Professor Bruce Barraclough, Chairman of the Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care, Professor Anna Yeatman, Professor of Sociology at Macquarie University and Dr Saras Henderson , Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Curtin University of Technology in WA. Many of the papers presented at the Conference will be published in forthcoming issues of the Australian Journal of Case Management, only available to CMSA members.
The fifth annual conference: 'Case Management: Cohesion and Diversity' was held at The Wentworth Hotel, Sydney, from 21 - 22 February, 2002. The conference focussed on four streams of interest where case management is practiced; health and acute care, corrections, injury management and community care. International presenters included Rufus Scott Howe and Dr Larry Motiuk. A number of international delegates attended the conference, including delegates from Germany, Japan, South Africa, New Zealand, Singapore and North America.
The fourth annual conference: 'Case Management - Art or Science' was held at the University of Melbourne over two full days on the 8 - 9 of February 2001. Reflecting the theme of the conference there was a strong emphasis on evaluation. The seven workshops offered embraced this theme and proved to be very popular with delegates.
In addition to the workshops, fifty papers were presented covering a diverse range of topics and areas of practice. The papers were presented in concurrent streams that included Case Management skills and practices, disability services, home care services, Case Management programmes and workers' compensation.
Topics presented by the plenary and key note speakers were very well received by delegates. Papers included those by international presenters Dr John Ovretveit (Sweden), Professor Greg Crow (USA) and Pat Orchard (USA).
There were over 350 delegates at the conference providing representation from all the Australian states and territories, in addition to the international delegates from New Zealand, USA and Sweden . The mix of delegates also reflected the cross section of professionals involved in Case Management:- practitioners, academics and management.
Our third annual conference, Case Management: Fact or Fiction, was also held at The University of Melbourne, on 10th and 11th February 2000. The keynote speakers for this occasion were Dr Monika White and Dr Sue Vardon. An internationally recognised author, lecturer and leader in the aging field, Dr White is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Health Aging in Santa Monica, California and an Adjunct Professor of Gerontology in the Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California. Dr Sue Vardon is Chief Executive of Centrelink and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration, Australia.
Our second annual conference, also supported by the Graduate Diploma in Case Management at the University of Melbourne, Case Management: the Coming of Age and the Getting of Wisdom, was held on the 11th and 12th February 1999 at the University of Melbourne. The Hon. Dennis Napthine, Minister for Community Services Victoria launched the conference, which included presentations on community care, corrections, aged care and children's services.
The inaugural conference of the Case Management Society of Australia, Case Management: the Critical Link, was held on 12th and 13th February 1998 at Hilton on the Park, Melbourne, Australia. The Hon. Dr Michael Woolridge, Federal Minister for Health, launched the conference, which was proudly supported by The University of Melbourne's Graduate Diploma in Case Management administered through the School of Postgraduate Nursing. Key sessions at the conference spoke to the issues of Case Management and the New Millennium, Perspective's on Case Management as the Critical Link, and Outcomes and Evaluation of Case Management: The Missing Link?
