HOW DO I
BECOME A MEMBER and MEMBERSHIP FEES? |
The Society has three classes of members:
|
Individual: |
Anyone actively engaged or with an interest in the practice of Case Management is eligible
for membership to the CMSA. |
|
Corporate: |
Any entity, whether incorporated or not, can be considered for corporate
membership. |
|
Associate: |
Current full time students can be considered for full individual
membership at 75% of the individual rate. |

Applications for individual
or corporate membership can be made on the
appropriate application form available for download below and should include
the membership dues.
PLEASE NOTE:
New members pay a joining fee of
$35 (included in Price) to cover the cost of supplying 1 copy of
the new revised "National Standards of Practice for Case Management", published
November 2008.
This new document supersedes the three
previous documents: National Standards 2004, Self Assessment Framework 2006 &
Self assessment Matrix 2006.

- provides for 1 individual (principal) membership and

- provides for 1 individual (principal) membership and
associated corporate membership for a further 9 nominated individuals
from an organisation |

Level 3,
at an annual cost of $3956 (incl GST)
- provides for 1 individual (principal) membership and
associated corporate membership for a further 17 nominated individuals
from an organisation |

The CMSA is totally a non profit organisation
receiving no government funding to support its ongoing running costs. As a
result, it relies heavily on the support of its members to ensure that it
remains dedicated to the development of the practice of quality case management,
and continues to focus on the work needed to advance case management practice in
the future.
Significant
achievements made by CMSA recently :

Publication of follow up practitioner tools
to the National Standards of Practice for Case Management.- the “National
Standards Self Assessment Framework” & the “National Standards Self
Assessment Matrix”.

Development of Workshops
on the use and implementation of the National Standards Documents.

Publication of the CMSA Ethical Principles
document.

Publication in collaboration with Aged care
Services Australia (ACSA) “Case Management in Community Care” Discussion
Paper.
-
10th Case Management Society of
Australia National Conference held in March 2007 & 11th Case Management Society of
Australia National Conference held in
June 2008.
-
Consultative work in reviewing the
viability of a model of certification for case management practitioners
suitable for the Australian context.
-
Collaboration with Australian Healthcare
Association, who publish the Australian Health Review (AHR), and the
subsequent development of a “Models of Care” sub section in the AHR under
CMSA editorial.

Online database listing and archiving of
the Australian Journal of Case Management (ceased production Dec 06).
-
Collaboration with Standards Australia (SAI
Global) to expand the sales and use of the National Standards Documents
across Aust and overseas markets.

Consultation and participation in the major
review of the case management and service coordination courses in the VET
sector, in particular the CHCO2 review.

Reference group
involvement in development of educational resources for modules in both the
health and community services VET qualifications

Expansion of the previous CMSA member
Bulletin to incorporate case management and member information including
practice articles on Case Management and conference papers.

Major review of the CMSA constitution and
business structure to enable it to move forward in the future.
In the next 12 months, CMSA will continue
building on these achievements with further work including:

Review of the National
Standards documents in line with current practice in the Australian context.

Development of a
certification model for case management practitioners in consultation with
members.

Continue to Survey member needs to determine future
direction of CMSA.

12th Case Management Society of
Australia National Conference, June 2009.

Further collaboration with ACSA and other
major stakeholders in policy areas pertaining to Case Management practice
and needs of CMSA members.

Continued collaboration
with Industry Skills Council and major stakeholders on the education needs of case managers.
-
Major updating of CMSA website for the
benefit of members to interact with each other and to further develop
networking and professional development opportunities.
